I find myself in a new role as a blogger… usually my hands are in the earth, not on the keyboard.
Clean fingernails are a novelty for me.
I’ve found my way to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa; the other side of the world and my first time out of Australia.
Up to now I’ve been an active ‘anti-international traveller’ – why? To avoid using exorbitant amounts of energy… and, because I believe re-localising our lives is one of the most effective actions we can take for a more sustainable world.

However, I did provide myself with two loopholes… I was allowed to venture overseas if I sailed OR if I was involved in work that would contribute to a better world…
So, despite the fact I’m meant to be on my honeymoon, I find myself at the blogger swarm. Leaving my very supportive husband to continue on without me.
I am here to connect with fellow activists and small-hold women farmers.
I will collaborate with this group to advocate for women farmer’s rights and their role in increasing food security.
We will create conversations and actions to mobilise people in supporting this campaign….
Just as I do with my garden forks and shovels, I will use this blog as a tool to sow seeds for resilient, ethical food systems for people everywhere.
